RUPI KAUR’S BRILLIANT SPOKEN WORD POEM IS A DISTILLATION OF THE IMMIGRANT EXPERIENCE

RUPI KAUR’S spoken word piece BROKEN ENGLISH beautifully, and with realistic details, chronicles the universal immigrant voice, especially from the first generation point of view that nurtures posterity and takes every challenge in its stride, to fit in the NEW WORLD aesthetics.

Listen to it and share it with all discerning individuals.

  1. Good morning, PJ:

SO BEAUTIFUL! I had an interesting experience while watching this video. I have VERY SLOW Wi-Fi internet where I live, so watching this video was choppy. It brought home the message of Rupi even clearer to me, as the video watched was like “broken English.” Obviously, my speech is English but, my oh my, how “broken” it can be! Often, what I speak in English is not understood or comprehended by many. My words become “broken” when others cannot understand or comprehend what I am saying. Rupi could probably relate to this! PJ could probably relate to this! Bless us writers who use our words to convey what we desire others to understand and comprehend! I have been working VERY HARD on something that is my usual “BOTH.” That “BOTH” is writing and creating what I know and feel for BOTH my healing AND God’s Glory. BOTH! Anyone else desiring to enter that “BOTH” is optional AND NOT mandatory (see today’s God Sonnet). I must continue to write and create in this “BOTH” way because if I don’t, when others don’t understand or comprehend what I am writing and creating, as they inevitably will, I will feel rejected in my internals. It’s hard enough to withstand the rejection of my externals but to be BOTH rejected for my externals AND my internals is too much of a burden to bear.

“Yes, Timothy, write and create for BOTH your healing AND My Glory. All else and everyone else is invited, but it is optional and NOT mandatory. Writing and creating in this way is My Way, and it is optimal!” – God

Love and blessings, dear one, “huckleberry friend,”
    Timothy (Mr. T)
