MY FRIEND RASHI’S POEM ‘YOURS ANXIOUSLY’ IS A MUST READ

I am sharing with you all a beautifully lucid and meaningful poem titled YOURS ANXIOUSLY, written by my friend Ms. Rashi Srivastava.

She is also an alumna of the Department of English and Modern European Languages, University of Lucknow, my literary home as I call it, and it makes me so proud to have her thoughtful words be a part of this blog space, with her due permission, of course.

So read it, spread the word and share your thoughts.

  1. I take it, PJ, that in YOURS ANXIOUSLY, written by Ms. Rashi Srivastava, the “Sylvia” she is referring to is poet, Sylvia Plath? Sylvia Plath is my absolute favorite poet and has most definitely inspired my poetry. Plath’s poem, DADDY, is my all-time favorite poem. It is haunting and it strikes me deep in my soul as no other poem can do. I have “daddy” issues, which is probably why it cuts me deep. You also are doing a very good and compassionate thing here, PJ, by posting another poet’s work on your website. We, as writers, need to post other poet’s work on our websites. We need to encourage one another and highlight other poet’s work so we don’t get too full our ourselves and we stay humble. I have thought of posting your poetry on my blog website from my sheer admiration of your poetry. Of course, most of my followers don’t “get” my own poetry, so not sure they will “get” yours, but I am certainly willing! 😉
